Week 7 – What Does It Take

Welcome back…

I am getting caught up…

Life and events (Paris) can get in the way…

I was just about to sit and write my post last Friday…

I was doing my best to live Scroll II…

Well it sure is profound living as a loving person…

I have to say the 15th came and went…

Still didn’t get to my Week 7 post…

I knew I desired to forgive…

I knew Love was the answer….

I was going through my 7 day diet…

I have to say…

I started and restarted a few times…

Then as I said the 15th came…

It was the day to remove “will” from scroll II…

The “will” being gone…

Gave me the ability to do as Scroll II drives me to “be the what I will/desire to be”…

Love…

It is not I will love…

But…

I love…

That is the answer…

It was the next step in getting to be…

Be Love..

Give to get…

It takes removing “will”…

This is now what I do…

I am going to … someday… love?…

No  today is the only time first to FORGIVE…

Then I am able to LOVE…

I chose Forgiveness and Love…

That is what it takes to change the world…

Actually it is what changes me…

Which changes the world…

Not that it will change the world…

Love changes the world…

May you be the change you wish to see…

Today I greet this day with love in my heart…

I look on all things with love and I am born again…

Thanks for waiting for me to get it..

Live it…

For you need to give what you’ve got to get more of it…

Week 6 – What’s Your Power Connected To?

I was reminded this week of something I have control over…

So do you…

You want to know what it is?

I bet you do…

I almost lost sight of it…

But was quickly reminded of it as I read in the Master Keys lesson this week…

In the lesson this week…

I got to be the Electrician…

Someone asked me what can you do with electricity?

Wow what a great question…

The answer is always anything…

Depends on what you connect it to…

Run electricity to a light bulb it sheds light on anything you desire…

Run it to a winch… You can lift heavy weights…

Its great to be an Electrician…

But it is even better to be…

Be… Hmmm just to be whatever you focus on…

Where is your power directed to… Yes your thoughts are Power!!!

OOPPPS…

If your life isn’t exactly where you would like it to be… who is in charge of that?

OOOPPPS

You are…

I am….

So if the life you live is not exactly where we want it…

Its time to bring all the POWER of Thought to….

Be exactly who we want to be…

No matter what others think…

Cuz it really didn’t matter what others thought about who you or I should be…

Unless we believed what they told us…

Which comes back to the same idea…

Who is in charge of directing our power?

Oh that’s right we are..

So from this point on…

Direct.. Redirect… Your power until it is doing the work that you desire for your own best out come…

Today’s the day for this to happen…

Don’t wait for one more day to go by…

If you do then it will be another day sending your power in a direction other than where you want it to go…

So, go on get going…

In the direction only you can determine…

You’ll know when your on the right track…

Let me know what it feels like to finally do what you know you’ve been wanting to do for a very long time…

I know what it’s like …

Wonderful…

Natural…

Liberating…

Week 5 – House Cleaning

Welcome back…

Well I almost wasn’t able to complete the cleaning I’ve needed to do….

Yes, I’ve been wrestling with should I clean house or not…

It’s not that dirty is it?

Have you ever noticed how quickly clutter can over take a clean area?..

Well I have…

I bet you have also..

I’m not sure it is always wise to wait for spring cleaning..

Just let it build up cuz you know we’ll just clean it when …

Spring gets here…

Life is rough…

I’m not sure everyone knows where spring is in life…

Life happens and yes there are seasons…

But how often should spring cleaning happen?

I think this is the great lesson this week…

In this weeks reading here is the fun part…

12. These are psychological facts; there is no theory or guesswork about these thinking processes; there is nothing secret about them; in fact, they are so plain that every one can understand them. The thing to do is to have a mental housecleaning, and to have this house-cleaning every day, and keep the house clean. Mental, moral and physical cleanliness are absolutely indispensable if we are to make progress of any kind.

When is the time to take the garbage out?

Daily!!!

Yes…

Daily the daily exercises matter…

The first time cleaning house takes a lot of effort..

Yet it is worth it…

Clean house and get all those things out that have prevented you from enjoying living the life you’ve been created to live…

So what is the mental junk?

Anything that slows you down…

Yes anything…

Nothing is too small…

Because if allowed to remain it will start to create more of the same…

So anything that slows you down…

Think about it…

Remove anything that hinders you from running the race set before you…

I hit a speed bump and now I am back on track…

Life happens…

That’s not the problem…

Taking the time to Keep the Main thing the main thing is the most important thing to do…

I think that sometimes getting off the track is actually part of the reminder how important staying on track is..

I hope you are able to stay on track and Clean House…

And be Thorough…

Don’t let anything hinder you from being as great as you know you are!

Week 4 – Small is Large

Welcome back…

I am still amazed at how the Master Key experience is showing me over and over there is more going on than meets the eye…

Here is what I found reading this week.

13. If you carry out this idea, beginning with small things which you know you can control and gradually increase the effort, but never under any circumstances allowing your “I” to be overruled, you will find that you can eventually control yourself, and many men and women have found to their sorrow that it is easier to control a kingdom than to control themselves.

14. But when you have learned to control yourself you will have found the “World Within” which controls the world without; you will have become irresistible; men and things will respond to your every wish without any apparent effort on your part.

“beginning with small things which you know you can control”

The value of just this small ten word part of this whole experience is one of my biggest finds…

Years ago I watched people do what they do and I always wondered how did they do it…

Viewing others change or do great things we just see the end results…

Now I have the secret….

Ha Ha not really.

It is no secret…

Just too small for most people to give it the value that it deserves…

So people will now want to know what is LARGE about small things.

I think what I love most about it is “those things that I can control”

When any of us is able to do those small things that we know that we can that’s the best and first thing to always do…

I will just do what I know I can control and not worry about all that stuff that is a mystery…

I’ll leave the rest up to those who want to control those things outside of their control…

Takes too much energy to try and control that which they have no control over…

Man, I spent years doing just that…

I am grateful to now know…

You can believe me or not…

I didn’t come up with this…

I took control of small things I knew I could control and…

I found it made a Large transformation in my life…

So take control of a small thing you know you have control over and see for yourself…

Its in your court…

Week Three – Just Relax

Wow this week more new challenges…

Welcome back…

Thanks for following my journey…

I hope you are also on a journey of your own…

Because finding out what your own journey is worth taking…

One of the hardest things to do is learn something new…

Not just to learn something new but someone asking you to do that and just relax…

I love telling someone else to do that with something that I’ve already learned…

But now that shoe is on my foot…

Well the exercise I was given this week was to not only sit quiet without moving…

And no thinking… well let thoughts come and go without bringing new thoughts in…

Now add…

Relax.

Relaxing without thinking about what is not relaxed is well… stressful… for a moment..

Then it just happens…

I was sitting and wow unexpectedly… this feeling of being more relaxed than I have been for a long while…

The best thing about new challenge is when it is no longer is a challenge and has become an easy task…

I guess when told to something new take the time to get used to the new…

And in a short time enjoy new skill..

I hope your journey is as challenging yet as freeing as mine is…

Week 2: Time to Focus

Welcome back. This Week I learned sometimes life can seem like looking at the world from thousands of miles away.

Well that’s what I learned was wrong with my perspective about my life in many areas…

So what’s wrong with seeing my world from this perspective?

From what I learned this week from the Master Key chapter two. Seeing things from a distance does give an overall view… but it gives too much opportunity for for distraction. Its hard to zero in on specifics.

I realized that for too long I thought I could see who I was and what I really wanted in life…

I was exposed this week… I needed a much closer look at who I am and what I desire to do with who I am.

Knowing I am the one that wants to live the life I want. Means I have to know what that looks like…

Being kinda general about what I want really does not work…

Let me put it this way…

I love pizza… So lets say we are going out for pizza…

Can you see going to the pizza place?…

We walk in…

We get seated…

Our waitress comes over and asks us are you ready to order?

We say yes…

She then asks ” What would you like?”

We both say in unison,”Pizza, duh.”

Well we knew what we wanted in general what we wanted to eat..

Pizza.

We went to a Pizza place.

Yet that is just not enough…

What kind of crust…

What’s on it…

What size…

Well for my life just pizza doesn’t work any more. Well it didn’t work very well in my life to know I wanted to live a great life. I need specifics.. So do you.. start getting more clear about what you want in your life…

So its time to focus on being more specific.

What will it look like when you get to where your going in life? Who will be with you? What will it feel like? When will you do this? And Why will you be doing this?

“Active thought is active energy; concentrated thought is a concentrated energy. Thought concentrated on a definite purpose becomes power.”

So take time today to start seeing more clearly… Yes I’m asking you to focus…

Don’t worry I also was speaking to myself.

Week One – I’m a Slave?

Wow! Here I am again! Week one of the Master Keys.

I really am excited to get started again.

I started preparing for 26 weeks of self unfolding. Some would call it self discovery and they would also be correct.

I am crossing the same river… yet it isn’t the same river.. If you’ve ever crossed a river it is constantly changing. Even though it looks the same on the surface there is so much under the surface of the water that is different.

I am reading Chapter 8 of “Worlds Greatest Salesman” “Scroll 1” Which points out that pretty much any adult(ok all adults) is a slave to habit.

Now habits are not all bad. They clear up your brain to do other things. They work in the background…. automatically.

Which if I stop and think about it…. can be very scary.

What do you mean automatically?

Let’s put it this way.. Do you ever wonder why sometimes when you are watching tv and a commercial starts then they quickly switch to a different commercial. What just happened? Well could it be that the advertisers know that they have shown the full version of the commercial that just by putting that quick little clip out there you get the whole commercial….

Hmmm.

So many times I find myself doing something…. wait… why am I going this…. ugh…

I started doing something that my mind/body recognized as you do this when you see this or feel this…

But how can I change and do a new habit? Well…

Here is the good news and the bad news…

No matter what you do…

You and I are slaves to HABIT!

Come on this journey and you will find out how to begin and hold onto a habit that you/I choose to do and keep.

Let me know if your okay being a slave to habits. The first step to solving any challenge is to realize what habit you’d like to stop and which one you’d like to start.

Then let’s choose to take step to adopt a new habit. Stick with it. It will be worth the effort.

Come on along. Its your choice. Are you ready to start a new habit? I am.

Week #3 Just Relax

Most people as life is getting hectic say,”Just Relax.”

This week has been hectic. Yet Just relax is part of the daily practice in the sit.

How tense am I?

The practice of relaxing is an education in body awareness.

Most of the time as I was going through each day. I thought,”hmm not much going on stress wise today.”

Yet when I went to do my sit… It was challenging to get each body part to relax.

Sometimes I needed to just exhale to bring myself to start relaxing. Other times I manually went in the other direction. Yes, sometimes to relax muscles you have to tense them to release them.

And sometimes you need to tense them for as long as you can before letting go. Just to let the muscle know you are serious about relaxing.

Relaxing is good practice.

It only takes a short while to get the body to relax. It is worth the time to get into a relaxed state.

The reason I say this is because sometimes the thought I got is “I’m only going to get all stressed out again so why bother.”

Well I found this week that it lasts for some time. It takes time for the stress to build back up. And guess what then I can just relax again.

It was one thing to sit for 15 minutes. Its a whole different thing to sit and relax for 15 minutes.

I love that it is a progression. I have control. I am in control.

This is what I learned this week. I am in control. I am able to relax. I choose to control parts of my life. Including my muscles and  My attitude.

Make the choice too. It’s time to relax purposefully. It’s worth it. Your worth it.

So go find yourself a place to sit. Close your eyes. Take a few nice breathes. Scan your body and start relaxing each and every part. Go ahead you can do it.

Week #2 Hey Who’s in Charge Around Here?

It’s amazing how fast a week goes by.

This week has new challenges that we get to address.

There is always someone that wants to be in charge. That is why I picked the title, “Hey Who’s in Charge Around Here?”

When life happens, when thoughts come, when situations happen. I have finally begun to ask, “Hey Who’s in Charge Around Here?”

Week #2 in Haanel gives an assignment. Week 2 of the sit. The “sit” is setting aside 15-30 minutes a day to sit in silence. In Week #1 we just got to practice doing the time. Yes, just sitting still eyes closed not moving for any reason. Ooops you moved start from the beginning.

But in Week#2 we changed it up just a little bit. Yes, the sit is still 15-30 minutes. Yes, still no movement. This time we add… drumroll please…

This time practice inhibiting all thoughts… Wow… Who get’s to choose what thoughts are going to be in my mind? Yes, me… Kinda. At least at first…

As I was sitting… I never really noticed… but all of the sudden here comes this thought… Now what do I do about it… Oh yah don’t think about it, don’t let it stay gosh what do I do to not think about this thought?

It is an interesting process. Before I started doing this “sitting” I just thought that thought just “IS”. But if I’m in control of this process of thinking… Choosing what I will think about then any and all things that come into my train of thought is MY RESPONSIBILITY. And if I have not been doing this for years….

Who’s in Charge?

Those people out there?

Those people who know better?

Those people who make commercials and tell me my life will be so much better if I just get this new thingy?

My mom?

My dad?

My wife?

My friends?

For so many years I kept hearing them talking in my head about who I should be.

If you haven’t figured it out yet this exercise is to help me/you to start taking over each and every thought that comes into the mind. So the answer is…

I’m in control.

No matter how hard I try to blame someone else about what I think about… It’s up to me whether or not I want to think about what I want to think about.

What my mom, dad, wife, friends, society think or tell me to do or how to be okay. It is still my choice.

Start today to take control of you! For me, I have decided this is my day to be all who I choose to be. It might not always be easy. But it sure is worth the effort.

This week sit and choose what to think or as in the assignment not think about. Its not to empty your brain. But to choose what to think about.

Everyone will challenge you to think like and about what they think about. They are not you! Be you! And let them be them. It’s hard enough just to be me.

Enjoy the sit. Start choosing, take charge and be in control.

Week 24: Is It an Ending or a Beginning?!

Wow! Here we are at about 26 weeks. I know the post title is for week 24.  It has actually been over 26 weeks.

I know it is hard to believe that over a half of a year has passed by… and this quickly!

I remember a few times completing a course… Moving from middle school to High school. Starting High School as a freshman and looking at the seniors and thinking “It sure is going to take a long time to graduate.”

It seems almost like yesterday. Each of those schools it took 4 years to complete. The kids that were entering looked at the kids about to move on and they looked HUGE.

Fast forward a few years…

I looked at those kids entering the school and “Man they look young!” lol. How quickly we in life go from the one amazed at how advanced those ahead of us look. To those looking back amazed at the journey is already complete.

I know 26 weeks ago I looked at those who were guiding us through this course seemed like…

“Wow how amazing… they got it all figured out… I can’t wait to some day be like them…”

Here I am 26 weeks later… knowing I have started a journey… My education has just begun… Well, I have completed 26 weeks with you and with the MKMMA.  The real journey is just now to commence.

Yes, I just said my education has just begun.. and I know the MKMMA course is almost/ is complete. So how could my education just be beginning?

Now I get to fully implement the different aspects of this life long journey to the full. I know I have been using each aspect of the Master Keys.

I like to relate it to just getting your drivers licence.

How much did you think you knew about driving once you received your little piece of plastic called a drivers licence?

Man I thought I knew it all… Until that first snow storm… The first patch of ice.  The first slippery corner I didn’t think I was going to make.. I could go on and on.

Boy those were the days..  Oh yah that’s right this is the same kind of day!

Driving has been such a blessing and is such a blessing.

The great things I have just unearthed in the MKMMA will be something that will continue to grow and blossom. I know this is just the beginning.

What a cool thing I have been blessed with. I hope you continue to follow this journey I’m on… And yes you too. I’m thinking of where Master Key Cast Iron Press is going. I have a few ideas which I will share over the next few weeks. It appears that there are a few more missing chapters to explore. Enjoy your weekend. Oh and Press On!
